Thoughts on El Cheap-o skeet slingers.
#1
I picked one up at the local Wally World and used it for the first time this past Sat evening..it is the kind that has 3 rods driven down in the ground at each leg.... works fine but mine has a rope pull and when you throw one, will lift up and the rear.. I had to keep moving it and driving the rods down... trying to come up with a way to still keep it portable but hold it in place when in use... Anyone ran across this issue???

Take an old weight or sandbag and place it on top of the back leg.

If I'm interpreting what you have correctly we had a similar one in college and had the same issue. I took a large bolt and drilled a hold in the back leg and used that to hang a 10 pound weight (plate, not dumbell) from.

Eventually we ended up doing the same on the other two legs and with the right amount of weight we didn't even have to put the legs into the ground.

You could mount it to an old tire rim with a tire on it.

Understand. Thinking about making a wooden "T" (2"x4") ..then mounting it on the "T". Can leave the rear leg longer so I can put my foot on it, should hold it down and still be somewhat portable!

The one I bought came with a seat you sit on that swivels......or you could make one of these.
