6.5 Grendel Redux
#21
This sow was the 1st test for my 6.5 Grendel. Heart and double lung shot so she dropped in her tracks.

Man! Hardened Arms just came out with the 6.5 Grendel and it's sooooo tempting.

I put a Davidson Defense 16" 6.5G upper on a PSA OD Green Magpul lower. $150 for the lower. $174 for the upper. Another hundy for bolt carrier group and charging handle. 3 magazines at $20 a pop. Putting a Primary arms 1 to 6 ACSS reticle scope on it this weekend at $290, $75 for an Aero Precision mount. JP Signature handguard at $280 with OD Green cerakote to match the lower, and CMC 3.5# flat trigger coming soon at $140. When all is said and done I'll have about $1275 in it, but it's perfectly serviceable as is with a cheap optic which would make it a well under $500 6.5G carbine.

That's awesome! You should post up a build thread.

This is what the Grendel looks like now. Added a UBR Stock. [Image: 13b8b026840c75cdec6755995e26bb88.jpg]

I'm lazy and bought the upper and lower complete (minus bcg and ch), so it'd be a pretty boring thread, lol.

I'm stoked about it though. I'm sold on 6.5G being one of the most versatile "small" rifle calibers. It substitutes nicely for an upgrade from a WASR. Shoots flatter, devastating ballistics, count me in.

Nice Squid. I am building a 6.8 SPC now. Probably build a 6.5 next.

That's awesome brother. 6.8 SPC is a mean cartridge out to 200 yards and has great aftermarket support. I should break out my 6.8 and 300BLK more often. Before getting orders to Cali, I was even considering a LWRC Six8 with that enhanced magazine well.

You will love the 6.5 Grendel. Nothing like dropping a Ram at 300 YDS and DRT! Big Grin
