Looking at building a smoker this year to start learning how to smoke meat. Just looking for tips and tricks that people have had success with and not success with. Thanks again for the help!

Building for a first try thats impressive!
Check out Alton brown...he basically did it using a cardboard box!

Quality charcoal is key if you want a good long consistent burn.

Don't start with a brisket or a shoulder. Things with lots of fat have stall points and take more work to do properly.

Try ribs to start!
